Gameplay The control is simply amazing. Obviously, tons of games will copy Zelda's unique Z-targeting system. The control only takes around a minute to learn, and it's perfect. I've only noticed slowdown once in Ganon's castle, but it's not that bad. Setting weapons to C-Left, C-Down, and C-Right is a great idea. This is also a concept that will be copied by other games. The only thing that annoyed about the control was riding Epona, Link's horse. It felt awkward, but it is a small flaw that can be overlooked. One thing that may annoy many gamers is the auto jump. There is no jump button, but if Link is running and gets to an edge, he'll automatically jump. It may sound stupid, but I enjoyed not having to fall all the time. Link literally has dozens of moves. He can walk, run, jump, pick up rocks, swim, roll, crawl, open chests, and grab ledges. The game uses the rumble pack well. It not only rumbles when you get hit, but once you find the Stone of Agony it rumbles once your near a secret. That's not the only things the rumble pack does. If you go fishing and cast the line(or whatever), and a fish bites, the rumble pack will start rumbling. How's that for innovation? Time traveling is amazing. I don't want to give too much away, so I'll just say it's really well done. The camera is also very good, much better than Super Mario 64. There are 3 swords, 3 shields, 3 boots, 3 vests, 2 hookshots, a boomerang, a bow and arrow(with 4 different arrows), bombs, a slingshot, bombchus, a Lens of Truth, and so many other items that it's not even worth counting, all with thier own special features. For example, if you shoot an arrow through fire, it will set on fire and melt ice and such. Flawless.
Graphics The graphics are incredible. There is apsolutely no fog, quite an amazing feat for the N64. You can actually see Hyrule Castle from very far away. Everything is very detailed. I was surprised to see that the people were not all the same like in most RPGs. The rendered cut scenes will stick in your mind forever. When the great Deku Tree explained my mission, it was amazing. The graphics are some of the best ever.
Sound Wow. Sound effects sure sound sweet. Link actually says stuff. Well not really, he grunts when he jumps and yawns sometimes. Navi is the only one that actually says anything, it's just "Listen!" Ganon also has this stupid laugh that sounds like he's constipated. The really sweat stuff are the little things, like birds singing, water running, wolves howling, and roosters crowing. The music isn't all that great, the original Zelda music isn't in it! Still, there some great tunes that will stick in your head for a long time, like Saria's Song for example.
Replay Value Do not use a Strategy Guide! Trust me, it takes all the fun away from the game. I used one and I never got to experience the true joy of Zelda 64 and I finished it too quickly. Once you get everything in the game, you most likely won't come back for more. But by the time you actually beat the game, you'll never want to put the controller down.
Overall What can I say, it's the best game of all time. Buy it know! And that's the final word, because Pjacks said so!
