Last year, PSX owners weren't seen outside during the cold winter months. Transfixated on they're television sets, they were all engrossed in Capcoms latest masterpiece, Resident Evil 2. Splattering the marauding hordes of the undead, uncovering the conspiracy, having all those hours of enjoyment! Hold your anger N64 owners, your envious rage is no longer needed. Capcom is finally overseeing RE2 for N64!
I know, many are wondering why Capcom doesn't bother doing the game themselves! After all, they are far more talented than Angel studios, they're track record is proof of that! However RE2 was 2 CDs and Capcom has no experience working with the N64, so perhaps taking a less prominant role would be smart. Angel studios is working on different compression techniques to ensure everything gets in, the 3D cutscenes may use a form of MPEG compression or if all else fails they'll use a more realtime approach to the cinematics.
For those few unfortunate souls who have never had a chance to play through RE2 here's the lowdown. Claire Redfield comes to Racoon city(hahahahaha) in search of her missing brother, only to be confronted by one of the town's undead inhabitants. Luckily she is rescued by Leon S. Kennedy a police officer but before they can drive to the police station, their car crashes and they get separated. After chosing a character you proceed to the police station and work your way to an underground lab to stop this madness(i skipped all the important stuff, for your benefit of course).
Things sound very good so far, and it sounds as though Angel may very well be able to do this game justice. Lets all hope that they use a 516 cart(like orge battle 3) and try their hardest to cram every little detail from those two whopping CDs into it!
