What?!? That was the sound of the foolish when they heard that Tomorrow Never Dies would not be coming to the N64. "I'll buy a playstation then" the extremists cried. I did not enlighten them, the disappointment of the game itself would bring them crawling back. But what if it doesn't? Then my friends, in the oncoming months the whispers of the second coming will be very close at hand, Rare's masterpeice will be nearly upon us! The heathens who we're saddened will once again succumb to Rare's mighty work, perfection in more than name only, Perfect Dark!
Oh Bond, ye shall be missed. However as one of the many who witnessed the PD movie would attest, I'm not gonna miss Bond much. Joanna Dark, top secret operative is all that's on my mind. Perfect Dark will be set in the not-so-distant future, where Joanna must uncover the suspicious doings of the mega corporation DataDyne. Using an appropriately futuristic arsenal Joanna will uncover a huge government cover-up. Do i smell aliens? Yup but it won't stop there, can you tell who is an alien, which ones must you annihilate, and which ones you must rescue?
Joanna takes gameplay to a level which Bond hasn't quite achieved. Two diving levels are planned so far, one apparently one has you diving to investigate a UFO crash site. Push and pull various objects, target multiple enemies(with a cool Robocop like display) and move with an ease Bond couldnt quite reach(slowdown). One more reason to be excited is that we can expect many story building cinematic cut-scenes, unlike Goldeneye which had fairly useless cutscenes.
Be excited young Jedi, the force is with Rare. Expect the impossible, download the video. Keep in mind however that that video is already nearly a year old! Rare will have us all peeing our pants this year, to which i say thanks!
