Mario Party, the newest game from Nintendo and Hudson. How did the game do? Read on to find out..Mwa ha ha!!!
Mario Party is a great game that I think could be named best Multiplayer game of the year! The Multiplayer is a blast!! But I don't want to write the whole review here. So, here goes!
Gameplay The gameplay is really pretty simple (*Warning: This game will ruin your controllers) But, the game will have you button smashing (Not good) Or rotating the joystick continuesly (Not good at all). But if you have a piece of crap controller layin around, you should really consider this game. Most of the mini-games are simple really, just pressing A or B continuesly are the main buttons (or the simplest of them all, just walking with the joystick) Other than the breaking your controllers thing this game has some pretty good controlling.
Graphics Ahh..the worst part of this game, the graphics. Although not the worst, the graphics are not very detailed (Except for on some of the games) they are blurry (Most of the time) and they look different then they should (don't ask why I put that I couldn't think of anything else to put there). But there are some good graphical mini games (the jump rope game comes to mind). Also the boards are very nicely done. Other that that there are nothing particular in the graphics worth mentioning.
Sound I still don't get why Nintendo opted to go against using actual talking (I mean it is a 256 meg cart) Oh well, the sound is really just a whole bunch of old Mario tunes thrown in. And it works. There is some talking, barely, but sometimes phrases from Mario Kart 64 are used ("Peaches got it!" is the only one I've heard so far) The music is pretty good for this type of game, really soft. (I think, I've played like 4 games of it! Got it a couple of days ago) Thats pretty much it for sound.
Multiplayer This is where the game is great! There is no end to this game. Play it with your friends and you have got yourself a great time. Play it alone, it's still swift! With all 56 or 7 mini-games to play, the Replay Value is almost higher than the Ten I give it! Yes, I finally have a game that won't be collecting dust after like 1 week. So I'm happy!
Overall I think that this is a great choice for ages 4 thru 7, actually 4 thru ohh 101. Seriously, I mean it is a little on the "kiddish side" but it's still a great game! I'm glad I picked it up! Not every one will like the game but I think it is definately a keeper.
