F-Zero X

F-Zero X is the continuation of the popular Super NES classic, F-Zero. It was Nintendo's hope to create another winner in this game.

Graphics: The graphics of this game can be described as mediocre. There are no impressive textures or fancy lighting effects. However the game does run at a blazing 60fps (frames per second), which gives it an amazing sense of speed.

Sound: The sound in this game is fair. Not outstanding, but not a hastle to listen to. Some of the music in this game is borrowed from the original F-Zero. I have no problems with this, as I find the music from F-Zero was quite well done. The new music is also ok.

Gameplay: The gameplay is the real reason to buy this game. It sometimes seems like Nintendo threw out anything necessary to make this game a fun and fast experience (thus explaining the graphics). This is really a gamer's game. It includes 30 vehicles, 24 regular tracks, and a random track generator, which creates a different track each time you play. Although many of the generated tracks are rather unexciting, you eventually come across one equal to or better than the regular tracks.

Satisfaction: With the random track generator, this game is incredibly good for replay value. It has support for up to 4 players simultaneous, so once again, replay value is added. The incredible variety of vehicles also is great.

Bottom line: If graphics heavily influence your decision when buying a game, this is not the game for you. If you're looking for great action and replay value, this game should be on your list.
